A gas insert is an excellent alternative to an open fireplace. If you want to heat your home more efficiently, consider converting to a high-efficiency gas insert. It lets you heat a portion of your home efficiently with the fireplace you already have.
How a Gas Insert Works
Gas inserts are usually made of cast iron or steel and install inside your existing fireplace. We install them in existing masonry fireplaces, with venting that runs up through your chimney.
A glass front lets you watch the orange flames in comfort and safety. With a flick of a switch or the touch of a button, you get a clean-burning fire, and many models keep working when the power is out.
Why a Gas Insert Saves Energy

- Direct vent inserts use outside air for combustion, which lowers your heating costs.
- The fire stays sealed off from your indoor air, which protects indoor air quality.
- More heat goes into your living space than with an open gas fireplace.
- The insert closes off the fireplace opening, so warm room air stays in your home while you use it.
