Where Doctor Flue Began
This is where it all began. “Doc” Binder and his wife started Doctor Flue on October 17, 1986, in Tecumseh, Michigan. Our chimney sweeping and inspection business has been based in Lenawee County ever since.
Doctor Flue has grown from a one-truck, one-man operation into an award-winning service business with five Sprinter vans and a dozen full-time certified chimney sweeps. Today the second generation, owner Kevon Binder, runs the company from Tecumseh.

Lenawee County residents are the salt of the earth and the backbone of Michigan’s economy. You might work at a manufacturing plant, harvest crops on a commercial farm, or take classes at Adrian College while working a night job. Either way, you deserve a warm, comfortable home at the end of a long day.
We offer fireplaces, stoves and inserts from brands including:
- Kozy Heat
- Napoleon
- Valor
- Wittus
- Jotul

Family Owned, Family Oriented
Lenawee County is a good place to raise a family, and its public schools rank high on the Michigan Department of Education’s annual list of top schools.
Doctor Flue is family owned, family operated and focused on keeping your family safe. We check that your chimney or fireplace meets National Fire Protection Association standards.
During your annual chimney inspection, our nationally certified chimney sweeps evaluate and diagnose your system, then explain what needs repair and why each repair matters.
